The First And Last Time I...New Version

November 17, 2019 0
The First Time I...Tag Questions

I have already done a smaller and similar blog to this one previously but this one has more questions and more detail!
Ilike finding out things about people, especially people in the public eye. And because I write blogs I like my followers to know things about me too. So one day when I was bored I decided to write another new blog but was stuck for ideas. Then I found this on the internet and thought I could have a go at filling it out as I like to do these kind of things. They are fun to do. So here goes...

First app you check when you wake up in the morning? Facebook or messenger
First broken bone? Never broken any thankfully.
First foreign country you ever visited? I have never visited any
First Instagram, twitter or Facebook post? I can't actually remember what they were. I have been on twitter 10 years,Facebook at least 10 and my first instagram picture I think I deleted a while back.
First make-up item? a make up set my cousin bought me when I was a kid. Mum would not let me use most of it.
First plane ride you ever went on? I have never been on a plane
First time I ever got into trouble at home and school? At home it was for flicking paint everywhere on purpose - I was three. At school I can't remember what it was but it got me a detention. I do remember when I first got in to trouble at Playgroup. I swore at my teachers and it was bad enough to get me suspended.
First time you were allowed to put on make-up? When I was 6 Mum bought me some cheap lip gloss but I wore proper make up probably around the age of 13 - nail varnish, lipstick, things like that.
First time you went shopping on your own? I was around 15 and it was in Barnsley.
My first Celebrity crush? Lee from Steps I was 10 years old.
My first cooking experience? I was around 6 and I made some buns with help from my nan and I gave one to my teacher Mrs Schofield.
My first ever cell phone? My cousin gave me her old Nokia 3310 I was so pleased but scared that I might break it that I spent 5 minutes just staring at it.
My first ever kiss? It was with someone who I classed as my boyfriend, who I met at school. I didn't kiss him until after I had left school and it wasn't even a proper kiss. It turned out he wasn't really into me and I later found out why he wasn't into me and it wasn't because of my looks.
My first fear? Needles. I can handle needles now a lot better than when I was younger.
My first friend in college? It was a fellow called Ian. He was lovely. He still is.
My first piercing and when did I get it? My ears and I was seven. I screamed my head off and refused to have the other one done. I did have it done though.
My first swear word? I can't remember the actual words but it was bad enough to get me suspended from nursery aged 4.
My first thought today? Whaat am I doing today?
My first time on a train? Aged 7 with my mum. We were going down south to meet my (step) dad
The first person I talked to today? Dad
The first person that ever broke my heart? Hannah. She was my second partner.
The first text I sent today? a text to Dad confirming the time we were meeting up.
The first thing I do every morning? Check my phone
The first thing I do when I get home? Pick up any post then Turn the telly on.
The first time you ever got drunk? The first time I ever got drunk was in Rotherham where I drank a whole cheap bottle of wine and ended up on the floor. Then a couple of months ago. I woke up in a state of undress and I cannot remember everything I did. Only parts. The second time was a couple of weeks back and unfortunately resulted in vomiting everywhere and blowing up my iPod so I had to buy a new one from the CEX shop
The first wedding I attended? Apparently I went to my cousins wedding a long time ago but I do not recall it. The only one I remember going to is my mums in 1999 she was marrying my (step) dad
When did you go to your first party? My friend Lisa's birthday. I think I was 5 at the time

30. If you could have a spooky halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), what would you pick? Dad has a black moggie called Marmite so I think I would like a black cat too. I like back cats.

Being Someone Else - My performing Arts Experience

August 14, 2019 0
I love being someone else. It's brilliant. A different name, age, personality and I can have a different accent too. I can be a killer one week or the next I can have three kids with a adulterous hubby the next. It's all in the name of acting. Of course, I am not a killer and I am not actually married with any kids - would be nice to be a mum one day soon. Maybe in a few years. (Kids and marriage that is)

I have always loved singing and acting. They are my two main passions in life. I was aged 6 when i was cast in the Christmas nativity as 'Narrator No.8'. I also played 'Mum' in a piece made for assembly. I loved acting in school but after year 9 I never thought about taking drama for my GCSEs. I was still very much into it though. I was forever singing and acting upstairs in my room. I enjoyed learning lines for plays. And from year 7-9 I would always volunteer to be in the Summer/Christmas choir. I left my first secondary school halfway through year 9. I really do regret not doing a drama GCSE as performing is something I LOVE! It would probabaly be the only GCSE I would have excelled in - I wasn't overly academic though I loved English,Art and Drama. I was not that great at Art though.

I didn't have to worry for long though. No sooner as I had left school, I decided i was not going to college - until I found out that I would be paid. I did a Vocational Access Course (Known as VAC for short) and on Monday afternoon, I joined Millennium Volunteers Barnsley's Drama club. I was happy to be back doing what i loved. You see, in the world of professional acting there is a lot of discrimination. Larger people (Like myself) do not get offered many roles which I think is very unfair. People like me should get a chance just like everyone else. There are very few larger actors. I think casting directors want everyone to be model stick thin. If this IS the case then they need to get with the times and realise that larger people should be given a fair trial. When they audition, it's like they are going to get a no straight away even before they open their mouths to talk - just because they are too big for the part.

I played the part of Older Princess in MV's production of The Princess Who Stole Christmas - in January 2006.  Then in March 2006 I sang two solos and did a duet at the college's 'Big event - Easter concert. That was actually the last time I got on stage to do anything until 2009. I auditioned for a place on the Performing arts course at Barnsley College and I was accepted - then I couldn't enroll as I was moving to Leeds. I was devastated. I auditioned twice for Leeds Thomas Danby for the same course. I got turned down twice and they never told me why but when I auditioned for Newbury college and again, Barnsley college for the same course as I auditioned for at Leeds - I got in on both of them. I still feel to this day that I was discriminated against by Leeds Thomas Danby because of my weight. I had to turn down Barnsley again because I could not find anywhere to live. I was devastated yet again. I would love to audition for Drama school but I would need some kind of student finance and somewhere to live if I got in - plus the audition fee. Life is too expensive! I need to win the Euromillions :)

In the Summer of 2009 I auditioned for a place at Newbury College. I was delighted and amazed to be told I was in. I was just so happy. While I was at college I played a pirate in Peter Pan. We got to perform to schools while doing Peter Pan. Of course, us pirates got booed every time. I played myself in 'Teen Issues' and Amber in 'Heartbreak Beautiful'. Amber was probably my favourite role. I got to swear and do/say things that I would never do/say in real life. We did some promotion as well to bring people to the course. Now, there was really no point in that because they pulled the course from the curriculum months later. The highlight of my time on the course was getting to perform 'Over The Rainbow' at the end of year show. If I could do it again and do things differently, I would sing a different song and I wouldn't have worn sports gear as Amber, I would have worn and actual school uniform like most did. I had a few personal issues which I ended up bringing to college, not deliberately. I was also emotional most of the time. I felt, looking back, that it probably kind of clouded my ability to concentrate fully on my roles when it came to rehearsals. In between my year at college, I managed to get an unpaid gig performing at St Nicholas' hall in Newbury as part of a Christmas Cabaret. I did two songs. Both X Factor winners singles (Well, they WERE released for Christmas) and I managed to score a part as an unpaid extra in the film 'The Sweet Shop' as a schoolgirl. Also starring Gemma Atkinson, it was filmed where I lived. The parts I was in were done at my sisters old secondary school so I didn't have to travel very far. About five minutes walk away.

All I need now is an agent. Meanwhile, I continue to write. I completed the script to my first very short film which I aim to get filmed soon and uploaded to Youtube. I am in the process of brainstorming ideas for my first crime story,my first real romace story and I have written a lot of songs. Acting is something I love because I like being someone other than myself as it helps me to just forget who I really am and can concentrate on playing tahat character. I will always love performing and it's what I am to do until I no longer enjoy it. Even when I had my job all I really wanted to do was act. Acting is what I want to do, singing and writing comes a close second.

Winning And Losing Repost

August 14, 2019 0
This was originally posted to another one of my blogs which I have now deleted but have posted this one to my main blog as a repost. I have also slightly tweaked this

Hello everyone. I haven't blogged in a while so I thought I had better get on line and make one while I am waiting for the results of Eurovision to come on...which is some considerable time.

I can't stop smiling. There are a couple of reasons why. Even though I have just received a massive static shock from my laptop I am still grinning from ear to ear.

Since I last blogged (March I think) I managed to buy myself an exercise bike from Amazon. Within 3 days one of the straps from the foot pedal broke so I had to order another pedal then a few weeks later the other one went so I had to get a replacement for that one. But I am loving using it. It is the best purchase I have made and it is helping me to get fitter. Today I burned 425 calories in just over 40 minutes and that is without getting off as I normally have to get off it before I burn 300. I am still very happy using the gym at RIO (Rotherham Institute of Obesity) and that is mainly because of our instructor,Luke. He's always smiling, very caring, always asking how you are and how your week has been. He is very friendly, very relaxed and is always there for you. Even if your struggling he will always encourage you and never rushes you. He always says to me that I'm doing very well which makes me want to push myself on further. I wish there were more people like Luke in the world....

I have also found myself a wonderful boyfriend. I have not had any real happiness for a long time and Stephen is a very lovely man. I just hope it lasts this time....

Now my blog post is called winning and losing. Here is the 'Losing' part.

I am happy to say that I will not need to have gastric surgery for the time being. The reason is because I am losing weight naturally by myself now (That is where the 'losing' part comes in) I am on slimming tablets given to me by my lovely doctor. When I had a weigh in at RIO just over a month ago I weighed 17st1. I suffer from depression on and off and sometimes it can be really bad. Recently, I was struggling to motivate myself and to get out of the depression. I was putting weight on not caring what I ate. I have to reach targets at RIO so I knew I had to do something. I feel a lot better now I am back out of depression and I found out at my most recent weigh in that I had lost 4 pounds and I am still losing the weight which I am now weighing 16st11. I had bought myself weighing scales as well so now I have no excuse not to weigh myself. I am gaining more confidence everyday. I am determined to get to 16st before my 26th birthday in July and I will focus on my goal to get fitter, thinner and become a new me.

I have always struggled with depression and other mental health problems which sometimes leaves me struggling with my emotions.
I won't go into it today but one day I shall be brave enough to share my experiences of mental health in a new blog. Whenever I feel upset or down I always try to make myself feel better by singing my favourite song at the moment which is Alexandra Burke/Bruno Mars' 'Perfect'. Life makes me realise that no one is perfect - not even me. Life can be tough and believe me, I have had my fair share of tough.
I have also come to realise that in order to get better properly and win my ongoing battle (Here comes the bit where I'm winning) I need to get rid of the 'rubbish' in my life. So called friends, fella's who are only talking to me to get one thing from me,etc. I need to concentrate on looking after no.1 for the moment and continue with the gym, continue seeing my nan every week. She always makes me laugh and makes me feel better about things.  (I love my nan - Nan's always know best) I also need to look for something to do which I enjoy other than gym like singing or acting or writing. Ten pin bowling is what I love doing so one day soon I may just go. Just not on my own LOL. I will one day come out of this smiling.
I may not have won my war just yet but I WILL defeat my demons and break free from my struggles and the things/people holding me back...AND WIN THIS!

So sometimes I have to go and see someone at RIO who is a talking therapist - I go to see him regarding food - it's not really about mental health which is what I would normally associate a Talking Therapist with. When I first met him I was struggling to open up to him as most of my food issues are linked to my emotional problems and I felt relieved when I finally did open up. I know now that I was feeling guilty and taking the burden for things that was out of my control and was not my fault. He gave me a 'tapping' exercise to do which has worked so farI am hoping that when I next go to see him I shall have something good to tell him as my last session didn't go that well. That was when I was back in depression. Maybe I could do a video in regards to depression. Oh yeah...Youtube :) I have recently uploaded a few videos to my YT channel. There are a few of me on there singing. I posted one or two a few years back but deleted them due to me not being very confident and I was rather - I shall admit this - fat. And I thought I was rather horrible to look at so I took them down. So I decided to upload a video of me singing a cover of Duffy's Warwick Avenue. I got so many views in the first day plus I had 3 likes,0 dislikes and a few comments on there. If you would like to check my youtube channel out you can at www.youtube,com/EmmaWilkinson1

Well, I think that is all I can possibly tell you. I will be back in a week or so with my blog on my experiences with mental health - If I feel brave enough to post it. I'm off to watch Eurovision now...and do a review of an album that I like which I shall blog about later and possibly YT it too

Laters ;)

Finally reached 30 and Another Year Older

July 09, 2019 0
It is the 9th July today. It was my birthday yesterday and I became the ripe old age of 30. Yes 30. Now some people have said to me 'But you can't be...You don't look it' Or 'But I thought you were only about 18.' Yeah, thanks. I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted. And I STILL get ID'd for things. Recently I even got asked to show ID for a scratchcard...seriously? You have to be 16 or older to buy one of those so are you saying I actually look 16!?

I went away to Yorkshire for a week and came back on the 7th. Everytime I go away to Yorkshire I don't wanna come home again. So did I make the wrong decision moving back to Berks? No. I mean, I like it here and I have dad to think about. But Yorkshire is and always will be my home.

I don't feel any older or any different. But there are things I still haven't done yet that I need to hurry up and do like getting my headshots done professionally, getting an agent and start my acting career again, recording studio session... One of my college friends has just had a baby and he's a beautiful little boy and it made me realise that I really want to be a mum before I turn 35. My mum was 32 and 41 when she had her kids so I still have time yet.

I enjoyed the coach trip up to Yorkshire and back. We went via London. I finally got to go to Golders Green,Marble Arch,Baker Street and a few other places in london even though they were literally flashing visits. I am hoping to take me and my friend around London soon because I really wanna go to Madame Tussauds and Eaton place. I had to wait 2hours and 45 minutes in Victoria for the second coach home (It would have been 2hr30 but the coach was 15 minutes late) and it cost me 30p to use the toilet.

I made the decision to have my hair chopped shorter with the undercut. But it nearly didn't happen due to the hairdressers lack of customer service skills. 'Oh can you wait ten minutes my dinners going to get cold.' I said I couldn't really because I don't live in Rotherham and need to get back because I have to go back home the following day. So she got in to a bit of a huff. And her response? 'Oh well my dinners gonna get cold then' Sorry love but I came for a haircut. Your customers come first not your dinner! So I said if her dinner is more important then I'm off. She did my hair but I wasn't happy.  So when I go back in December I won't be using that place again.

I managed to get nearly everything done what I wanted to do while I was away except for Meadowhall. I was actually glad because I hate Meadowhall (or MurderHell as us Yorkshirians call it) I went to Doncaster and Barnsley as well as Rotherham. Met up with a couple of people. I didn't actually buy anything non food-wise except for a few magazines, hair dye and a new top. Barnsley market do lovely ham rolls for 1.50. And Rotherham has a shop called Goodfillas and I adore their bacon Rolls. Beautiful. Unfortunately for me I did put on 5 pounds. But I can lose it again within a week as that is how long it takes me to lose half a stone. I thought I was gonna have trouble getting to Meadowhall on Sunday because of the lack of buses but luckily I managed to get the X19 which takes half an hour from Barnsley to Doncaster then the x78 which takes an hour and only had to wait 20 minutes and was still at Meadowhall an hour before I had to be there for the coach.

Yesterday was OK. My birthday wasn't as bad as I thought. I went to dinner with Dad and then did some shopping at Asda. My birthday presents to myself was 2 CDs and some clothes. I didn't get anything else from anyone else except one birthday card and a book. I don't know if I will be getting anything else in the post this week, who knows? I am meeting the friend I mentioned on Saturday and I am gonna spend some serious money. I got paid today and I have my savings so gonna spend some of them.

Well I have left my 20s behind and I am about to start a new decade. My 20's brought good things and sadness. Here is what I learned throughout my 20s...

I learned that I passed my college course in 2010. 2 passes and a merit for acting. I failed three auditions and passed two more for other things throughout the next 6 years.

In 2011 I found out I had the mental health disorder BPD. I struggled throughout the years then was told in 2018 I didn't meet the criteria for BPD even though I did, then about 5 weeks ago told I DID and that the pyschiatrist agreed with the BPD diagnosis I had before. Which made me angry with the person who said I didn't. Then put on mood meds which are helping at the moment but what happens when they stop working?

In 2013 I learned that I was about to lose my one remaining parent to cancer. In 2017 I learned I was also about to lose my last remaining grandparent. I am now an orphan. But without my stepdad (Who I call dad) I wouldn't know where I'd be right now.

In 2014 I moved back to Rotherham and I managed to get down to 16st7. Then in 2017 I moved back to Berkshire and found I was about 22stone again. I managed to lose 2 and a half stone with a little help from dieting, walking and then sciatica. I am now at just over 20st having put a stone back on. Grrrr! I also learned in 2014 I would be having gastric surgery but unfortunately Rotherham came up first.

In 2018 I learned that I was being given my first ever paid job. Wow! I have had a few jobs before but they were just work placement type things. And I was my mums carer for three years which was nice to do.

I also found out that my special effects make up looked very convincing :) Hahaha maybe I could make a career out of creating blood, cuts and bruise make up if people think it's real and that I had been in an accident and that it scared them.

Well that's enough for one night I'll leave it there
Take care my blog friends x

How to make a trifle

April 17, 2019 0
I recently posted a photo on Instagram (emmalouwilkinson) of a trifle that I had made myself and I said that I would post the recipie for it. So here it is (Apologies for the rude worded mug in the background of this photo)

You need...
A large glass dish
Cream
Custard
Fruit
Sponge fingers
Jelly

Take some Sponge fingers and place in the glass bowl, you will need to put quite a few in there as you'll need to make them fit the bowl. Next take a tin of fruit of your choice and empty into the bowl. Next take a packet of jelly cubes, break and put into a glass jug. Add bowling water and stir until the cubes have dissolved. Pour into the bowl. Then place the bowl into the fridge and leave to set.

Once your jelly is properly set you will need to add some custard and spread it about. Then place back into the fridge to chill. Once ready, add some cream, I tend to use whippy cream from a spray can but it is entirely up to you. Then it's ready to serve.

There you have it. Nothing to it really, It is so easy to do.
